Duration:

Requirements: aged 18+, first aid course that is not older than 3 years, Rescue Diver certification, 20 dives in your scuba diver logbook at the start of the course (60 at the time of certification), a recent medical examination (not older than 2 years) by a diving medical specialist.

Module 1

Skills Assessment Phase 1 Evaluation of swimming and diving proficiency.

Exercise 1: 400m timed swim.
Exercise 2: 15-minute water treading.
Exercise 3: 800m timed snorkel.
Exercise 4: 100m diver tow timed. Phase 2 General diving skills demonstrated as per Open Water Diver (OWD) curriculum. Phase 3 Problem-solving ability and equipment exchange (partly during alternate air source use) Phase 4 Rescue Proficiency (Unconscious diver on the surface without breathing)

Module 2Theory Training (7 lessons) 1. Dive planning. 2. Dive activity management and control. 3. Supervising student divers. 4. Dive physics. 5. Dive physiology. 6. Dive equipment. 7. Dive skills. A written final examination covers all areas.
Module 3Practical Training • Creation of underwater maps. • Demonstrating skills from O.W.D. Module 1-5, discussing and addressing common and specific errors within the context of an Open Water Diver course. • Taking the role of dive master in pool-based O.W.D. courses (5 sessions). • Taking the role of dive master in open water training (as in point 3, but in open water), 10 dives. • Taking the role of dive master for activities beyond special trainings • Guided dives for certified divers, orientation dives complete with conditions assessment, briefing, supervision, problem recognition, and resolution. Required teaching materials: OWD Manual AOWD Manual Rescue Manual Enzyclopedia of Recretional Diving Workbook RDP Wheel & Manual Instructor Manual (recommended)

The IDDA/ PADI®️ Divemaster Course typically spans a period of 6 to 8 weeks, depending on your level of experience at the outset. (It can be completed more quickly if you have sufficient diving experience.) You have the flexibility to start the course on any day of the week, year-round.
